Okay, for anyone who works in tech support, the moment where someone on the phone says or does something so stupid, you swear on a stack of Bibles over your Grandmother’s grave that your brain had either exploded or actually walked out, slamming the door to your skull behind it, and caught a cab to JFK for the next flight to Amsterdam. I kid you not, you do hear a small explosion inside your head. Unfortunately for people working in tech support, this means some days sound more like the Gaza Strip right about this time, instead of downtown Phoenix.
We deal with it, because it is part of the job. However, here are some great spots from Intel that give an example to just the sort of things we deal with. http://www.intel.com/business/enterprise/emea/eng/vpro/pebkac.htm
Its a good laugh! Enjoy!
Yes, insomnia. “The bitch is back” as it has been said. It’s 4:30 in the morning and I’m no longer tired. I was exhausted about 3 hours ago, but for some reason that lapsed and here I am… wide awake.
I’ve decided I should try to get up to Flagstaff to see the RCPM show later this month. I haven’t been out of town in so long I think I’m going loony.
The shift bid at work is underway again. Yay to massive disruptions in ones life! There is one thing I’ve always questioned about the wisdom of the random, mandatory shift bid. It’s like stirring the soup not because the soup needs to be stirred, but because someone just freaking decided it should be done. Arbitrary stupidity is not something I fancy. But, we’ve been talking about this for a long time and its understood that the recent trend of shift bids every few months is going to end and more long term scheduling will take place. I hope.
I’m writing again, a story that I hope will turn out to be a best seller. Okay, at least something that I hope will be published and collect dust somewhere. It seems promising. Patrick read the first few pages, and although he is not a big reader, is interested to find out what happens. I hope people like Witchcraft and Secret Police. OOOH! Its Bourne meets… well… most witchcraft movies suck monkey balls, so there isn’t much I can say to compare it too.
Still planning on getting a cat as soon as I get my tax refund. Needless to say I am patiently waiting the digital copy of my W-2. This house is definately missing a feline.
Well, I think I’m going to wander aimlessly around the internet. Ciao!
